WHISTLEBLOWING
As established by Legislative Decree 24/2023 and the ANAC Guidelines in Resolution no. 311/2023, starting from December 16, 2023, the Whistleblowing platform will be active for reporting illegal activities or abuses. Below, you will find an explanation of the meaning of the term Whistleblowing.
Whistleblowing is a corporate tool that allows employees or third parties (such as suppliers or customers) of a company to report, in a confidential and protected manner, any illegal activities encountered during their work. The term “Whistleblower” (literally, “whistleblower” in English) refers to the role of an individual who acts as a referee or policeman by calling attention to prohibited, often illegal, activities, to ensure they are stopped. A “whistleblower” is thus a person working in a company (public or private) who decides to report illegal acts, fraud, or dangers observed during their work (or, in the case of a customer, during their experience as a customer of the company). Consequently, whistleblowing is the practice of reporting violations of laws or regulations, crimes, cases of corruption or fraud, as well as situations that pose a threat to public health and safety.
