Sustainability
Since 2014, Nuova Saimpa has embarked on a systematic journey to integrate sustainability into its business strategy. Over the years, this strategy has evolved, setting increasingly effective goals and management systems.
We have voluntarily chosen to publish our corporate sustainability report every two years as a tangible testament to our commitment to environmental, social, and economic issues. This practice, though not mandatory, is undertaken with conviction and reflects our ongoing commitment to a sustainable future.
At NUOVA SAIMPA, social and environmental sustainability has always been a core value. We initiated a collaboration with VAIA, an innovative startup with a social and environmental focus, inspired by the Vaia storm that devastated the Dolomites and parts of Europe at the end of October 2018. Through our involvement in the VAIA project, we actively contributed to the environmental reconstruction of the region, participating in the planting of 150 trees and providing financial support for research, awareness campaigns, and the cleaning of the glaciers in the Alps.
With the RIPLAS project, Nuova Saimpa aims to become a reference point for the circular economy in the field of eco-sustainable plastic materials for household appliances. Launched in October 2022, the project is confirmed until October 2025 and involves collaboration with the Province of Trento, the University of Trento (Department of Plastic Materials Engineering), and other partners. The main objectives of the project are:
NUOVA SAIMPA SRL is the winner of the 2024 edition of the “CONAI Call for Ecodesign of Packaging in the Circular Economy”, thanks to the redesign of a packaging system for the transportation of knobs across various sectors. The original packaging consisted of an alternate layer housing made of cardboard and expanded PE sheets inside a corrugated box. The redesign focused on both the expanded PE trays and the boxes, promoting reuse between the company and its clients. Additionally, the cardboard and plastic layers were removed, resulting in a 40% reduction in tray weight.
4 Ecodesign Levels Activated Out of 8 Foreseen by the Call:
